AFFILIATE WEB SITE UP AND RUNNING
by Eugene Coulter
On December 24, 1998, the electronic age of the NFB of Missouri began when our affiliate web site was launched. Fifteen-year-old Larry Coulter, with supervision from Gary Wunder and Eugene Coulter is the man behind the site. He has accumulated a wealth of information all in one place. The site features e-mail links to the principle officers of the affiliate, as well as to President Clinton, the U.S. Congress, Governor Carnahan, and Missouri legislators. It also has links to technology providers, governmental agencies, Wolfner Library, and Rehabilitation Services for the Blind. There is information about scholarships, state convention, board meetings, and other upcoming events. You can even hear your favorite old NFB song, although it takes a few minutes to load. Larry says, "It has been fun so far. However, there may be one or two organizations to which Gary might object to my setting up links." There are plans to further expand the site, including home pages for chapters that wish to have them. One major advantage we enjoy over some other organizations for the blind is the ease of finding us on the web because we have a full domain name. It is easy to come join us at www.nfbmo.org next time you turn on your computer. Suggestions for items to be included are encouraged. E-mail them to webmaster@nfbmo.org with a CC to escoulter@nfbmo.org. See you on the Web.
